Periodontal disease is a chronic infection of the gums and bones holding your teeth in place. If left untreated, the gums and bones holding your teeth in place can be damaged, leading to possible tooth loss. This disease is very common and affects an estimated 50 million people in the US. Recent studies suggest a link between periodontal disease and other health complications including diabetes and heart disease.

The effective treatment protocol for this condition includes ARESTINTM.

Scaling and Root Planing (SRP) is a procedure that we use to remove plaque buildup and bacteria from the infected area around teeth. ARESTIN is an antibiotic in the form of powder and can be placed in the infected gums around the teeth to treat periodontal disease and also promotes healing after SRP. Application is comfortable, no bandages are required and it won't leak or fall out.
